The Sport Industry Awards is Europe’s largest and most prestigious commercial sport awards. The Awards recognise and reward the best the sport business has to offer in marketing, PR, sponsorship, new media, publishing, advertising and design.

The Sport Industry Awards will take place on Thursday 30th April 2009.

Deadline for Entries is 12th December 2008.

Previous star-studded awards ceremonies have been attended by the likes of Sir Bobby Charlton, David Beckham, Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson, Arsene Wenger, Lord Coe, Bernie Ecclestone, Frank Lampard, Martin Johnson, Kevin Pietersen, Dame Kelly Holmes, Sven-Goran Eriksson, Flavio Briatore, Thierry Henry, James Cracknell, Amir Khan – to name but a few. To the 1,400 attendees at the sell-out event it is also the most important networking occasion in the sport business calendar.

Martin Hansson, the referee responsible for the recent controversy between Liverpool and Atletico Madrid, claims he has been harassed over his decision to award a late penalty to Reds captain Steven Gerrard
